- Heart of TN USBC Youth Tournament Tournament Rules
- Entries will be open to 2024-2025 Heart of TN USBC youth bowlers.
- The Heart of TN USBC Youth tournament will be held at LTA Depot on November 23, 2024 for youth 18 and younger. Bowlers can compete by age and gender in one of the following divisions: U10 Boys/Girls: DOB 8/1/14 and later; U12 Boys/Girls: DOB 08/01/2012 to 7/31/2014; U15 Boys/Girls: DOB 08/01/2009 to 07/31/2012; U18 Boys/Girls: DOB 08/01/2006 to 07/31/2009.
- Each entrant shall use their BOWL.COM Heart of TN USBC 2023-2024 composite average based on 9 games or more. If no average exists, the bowler will bowl with zero handicap. You can pay $4 to sanction with Heart of TN USBC, but you will still bowl with zero handicap. Composite averages include summer.
- Entry fee will be $22 per bowler, per event (Doubles and Singles) Breakdown is as follows: Lineage $11.00; Prize Fund $9.50; Tournament Manager $1.50. No entry will be accepted without bowling entry fees.
- The tournament will consist of two events: Doubles and Singles. Each bowler may enter one or both events. Doubles can only win once with the same partner. In case of a tie for doubles, prize money is divided equally.
- Tournament will be contested on two lanes, three games per event. Bowlers are responsible for observing courtesy and qualifying blocks on the same pair of lanes assigned. Singles event will bowl first and then Doubles on the same pair of lanes.
- Team captains are responsible for correct averages. Incorrect averages are cause for disqualification without a refund of entry fee. USBC rule 319a-3 will apply. The team captain will list the bowlers on the entry form in the order which they will bowl. No change in lineup will be permitted.
- USBC Rules shall govern the tournament. USBC rule 319a.2 (10 pin increase) and 319e (15 pin increase) and 319d (Reporting of Prize Winnings) will be waived.
- The handicap will be 90% of 220. Handicap is subject to re-rating at the discretion of the Tournament Manager, Jay Hendrickson.
- All prize fees will be returned 100% to the participants based on the number of entries to USBC SMART accounts.
- The tournament manager has the right to reschedule bowling times to fill schedules. In case of machine breakdown and undue delay, the game may be continued on any pair of lanes with each bowler receiving two practice balls on each pair of lanes.
- Bowlers must check in with the tournament official 30 minutes prior to bowling. Tardy bowlers may bowl beginning with the frame being bowled. No make-up frames will be allowed. In case of emergency, failing to show at the scheduled time, may be rescheduled with permission of the tournament manager.
- Lanes will be assigned by computer program or tournament manager.
- Computer printouts will be the official scored. Bowlers will be responsible for watching their score. Only a Heart of TN USBC youth bowler may record the official scores.
- The decision of the tournament committee shall be final unless an appeal is made in accordance with USBC rule 329. The Tournament Manager will accept and resolve protests or scoring errors up to 24 hours after the end of the last game.
- Prize fund listing and prize funds will occur within 15 days from the tournament.
- Tournament committee reserves the right to determine if the uniform worn by the participant is acceptable. Bowlers should wear attire suitable when participating in Youth Tournament. No indecent shorts, short skirts, short shorts, T-shirts or bowling equipment with back-out apparel or altered advertising. Pants must not be at waist level. If attire is considered inappropriate by tournament committee, the participant is required to change the uniform immediately. Male participants will wear collared shirts, turtlenecks or mock turtlenecks or bowling shirts are suggested. Female participants are required to wear slacks, capris, skorts or walking shorts, no gym shorts. All skorts or walking shorts must be below fingertips when arms are held to their side. No skin-tight shorts/skirts shall be allowed. No writing on clothing except sponsor, participant’s name and team/association, college and such related sponsors may be worn on any shirt. No head covering or sunglasses can be worn while bowling. Exceptions are made for medical conditions. Hats, Caps, or Bandannas, etc.).
- Competitors are not allowed to use tobacco or vape products during competition or related events while in their bowling attire. Failure to comply with this rule will result in disqualification from the tournament and forfeiture of all prize funds and awards. Alcohol or recreational drugs may not be used by any participant at any time while in bowling attire. Consumption of alcoholic beverages/advertisements on any bowling equipment worn or supplied by the tournament may result in disqualification from the tournament. Usage of foul language or any inappropriate language/gestures during tournament competition will not be allowed and may result in disqualification from the tournament.
